Terms of service
The terms our IT support work is provided under.
Last updated
These terms apply to IT support and related services provided by Leeds IT Services Ltd, and to your use of this website.
Our services
We provide remote and onsite IT support to business and home clients. Work is agreed with you before it begins. Where a job turns out to be larger than first described, we will tell you before continuing rather than carrying on and billing for it.
Quotes and charges
Charges are confirmed with you before work starts. Onsite visits include travel and time on site. Where parts or third-party licences are needed, these are quoted separately. Invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about the problem and the systems involved.
- Make sure you have the authority to ask us to work on the equipment and accounts concerned.
- Keep your own backups current. We will help you set them up, but the final responsibility for your data is yours.
Data and backups
We take reasonable care with your systems and data. You should always have a current backup before any repair, upgrade or migration. Where no backup exists, we will say so before starting work that carries risk to data. We cannot accept responsibility for loss of data that was not backed up.
Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise our liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the work giving rise to it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business interruption.
Third-party products
Where we install or configure software, hardware or cloud services from other providers, those products remain subject to their own terms and warranties. We are not the manufacturer or publisher and cannot extend their guarantees.
Cancellation
Booked appointments may be moved or cancelled by contacting us. Consumers who enter into a service contract at a distance or away from our business premises normally have 14 days in which to cancel.
If you ask us to begin work during that 14-day period, you expressly request that the service starts early. If you then cancel before the work is complete, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the work completed up to the time of cancellation. If the service has been fully completed after your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end.
